Highgrove Retirement Village gives ready access to many of the amenities we anticipate residents are seeking to complement their retirement lifestyle.

The shopping

The village is centrally located, just 10 minutes drive from many of North Shore’s prime shopping destinations – the Albany Megacentre, Milford Shops, Glenfield Mall and Wairau Park. Smaller, convenience shops are closer at hand.

For residents unable to drive themselves, the village bus operates shopping excursions to the main shopping centres three times a week, where residents can browse and window shop, or take the chance to do a weekly grocery top-up at one of the supermarkets.

Clubs & Recreational Facilities

Highgrove is surrounded by numerous clubs and recreational facilities.

Both Takapuna and North Shore Golf Courses are only a short drive away. The area is surrounded by numerous bowling clubs – Birkenhead, Brown’s Bay, Glenfield, Mairangi Bay, Milford, Sunnybrae and Takapuna. There are even more tennis clubs in close proximity.

Birkenhead, East Coast Bays, and Takapuna are home to RSAs. And the area is also dotted with women’s clubs, service clubs and Probus clubs.

Parks and Reserves

The surrounding suburbs contain some of the region’s best kept secrets.

Wainoni Park in Greenhithe is the North Shore’s Cornwall Park, with boardwalks criss-crossing wide open fields. The recently completed playground is a haven for children of all ages.

The beaches of the East Coast Bays and all the attractions they offer are a short drive from Highgrove.

Nearby, you’ll find Kumeu and its vineyards and artisan flavoured cafes, as well as the fresh produce outlets of Hobsonville.

Access

Access in and out of Highgrove is via the main entrance onto the Albany Highway, or from Condor Place through Unsworth Heights.

The village is just 200 metres to the Upper Harbour Highway which leads to Auckland’s western suburbs, and to the Northern Motorway.

There’s a Park’n ride at the interchange of the Upper Harbour Highway and the Northern Motorway, with local buses connecting to the bus stop a few minute’s walk along from our Albany Highway entrance.
